Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at MPHS-Mills-Peninsula Medical Center. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic computerized tomography examinations, operating complex stationary and mobile diagnostic equipment, and ensuring that routine and priority tasks are completed within established departmental time frames.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnostic Imaging: Performs a variety of diagnostic computerized tomography examinations, including routine and specialized procedures, to produce high-quality images for physicians and other healthcare providers.
  • Equipment Operation: Operates complex stationary and mobile diagnostic equipment, ensuring that it is properly maintained and calibrated to produce accurate and reliable results.
  • Task Management: Ensures that routine and priority tasks are completed within established departmental time frames, including preparing for and assisting physicians in diagnostic and/or guidance imaging during invasive procedures.
  • Patient Education: Explains and educates patients on the procedure, medications or contrast media, and associated biological effects in a clear and professional manner to alleviate fear and anxiety.
  • Mentorship: Mentors and fosters a constructive environment that helps students and new technologists build confidence in their skills, knowledge, and abilities.
  • Clerical Duties: Performs general clerical tasks, such as updating patient appointments, retrieving and entering patient electronic health records, and updating the laboratory information system and radiology information systems.
  • Safety Protocols: Implements protection devices and safety standards to minimize radiation exposure to self, staff, and patients, and maintains a clean, neat, and safe working environment.
  • Compliance: Maintains strictest confidence of all patients' protected health information and protects all PHI from accidental, intentional, or inappropriate disclosure, and performs quality CT examinations in compliance with department standards, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduation from a JRCERT-accredited Radiologic Technologist Program.
  • Certification: CRT-Certified Radiologic Technologist, BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider, and RHF-Radiology Fluoroscopy within 180 days of hire if required at the affiliate.
  • Experience: 5 years of recent relevant experience.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position with a 40-hour workweek, working Monday and Tuesday, with occasional Saturday and Sunday shifts. The pay range for this role is $64.08 to $80.09 per hour.
