Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner-Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program Specialist to join our team at the Department of Veterans Affairs. About the Position

This is a full-time permanent position with a competitive salary range of $74,422 - $142,715 per year. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP). As a key member of the healthcare team, you will work closely with mental health professionals, social workers, and other clinicians to ensure that patients receive high-quality, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to individuals with complex behavioral health needs, including those with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), substance use disorders, and co-occurring mental health conditions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, taking into account each patient's unique needs, preferences, and goals.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and huddles to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care among team members.
  • Assume responsibility for leading groups and conducting educational sessions on topics such as stress management, coping skills, and healthy relationships.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient interactions, progress, and outcomes, using standardized documentation tools and best practices.
