Child Welfare Specialist

This position is located in Alva, Oklahoma, and is part of the Oklahoma Human Services team.
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Child Welfare Specialist to join our team. As a Child Welfare Specialist, you will have the opportunity to positively impact the safety and well-being of children and families in our community.
The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for social work and a commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. You will work closely with families, children, and community partners to provide support and services that promote safety, stability, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate allegations of child abuse or neglect and provide services to help families overcome barriers that put children at risk.
- Preserve and strengthen protective capacities of parents to keep children safe in their own homes.
- Provide placements for children that meet their medical, educational, and physical needs.
- Return children to their own homes as soon as possible and arrange permanent plans when return is not possible.
Requirements
- Completion of 90 hours from an accredited college or university, or 3 years of experience related to child welfare work, or a combination of education and experience.
- A bachelor's degree (in any field) to qualify, or one year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.
- A Master's degree, or a bachelor's degree plus one year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist, or two years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.

Travel is EXTENSIVE - Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain required car insurance. State vehicles will be available for use to carry out the duties of the position.
