  • Identify, research, and resolve various problems and opportunities, evaluating performance and implementing solutions.
  • Coach and counsel employees, providing guidance and support to help them grow professionally.
  • Manage activities in accordance with UFP Industries' policies, procedures, and applicable laws, ensuring compliance and adherence.
  • Communicate effectively with employees and other management members, providing regular updates and feedback.
  • Manage departmental costs and profitability, making informed decisions to optimize performance.
  • Oversee departmental inventory, ensuring accurate tracking and management.
  • Lead employees in continuous improvement and safety initiatives, promoting a culture of excellence and safety.
  • Prepare reports and maintain records as required, providing data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
  • Participate in the Safety Committee, ensuring the department meets established safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as required, adapting to changing needs and priorities.
Requirements
  • Post-high school education is required.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing, with 1 to 3 years of experience managing people.
  • Working knowledge of production reporting and production scheduling.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and other business software.
  • Basic knowledge of lumber math, lumber grades, and species.
  • Preferred understanding of company policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Successful completion of Forklift Driver licensing process.
