Health Administration and Policy Faculty Position

We are seeking an outstanding faculty member to join our Department of Health Administration and Policy at the Commonwealth of Virginia. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing academic research and teaching in areas related to health policy and public health or health systems management.
Responsibilities- Teach and mentor students at undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels;
- Maintain an extramurally funded research program;
- Engage in professional service;
- Collaborate in the development of multidisciplinary courses, degree programs, and research.
- Must have obtained an earned doctoral degree in a related field prior to the employment start date;
- Interest in academic teaching and advising in a Stem-H related program;
- An established research trajectory related to policy (particularly federal or state) and public health, or policy and health systems, as evidenced by refereed publications and external funding;
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Doctoral degree in applied biostatistics, information technology, computer science or related field; or terminal professional degree with specialized training and/or experience in health informatics related work/skills;
- Experience in academic program teaching;
- Active membership in AMIA, AUPHA, ACHE, HIMSS or other relevant professional societies.
The Department of Health Administration and Policy has educated students and conducted research in health systems management, health policy and health informatics since 2010. Today, graduate programs in these areas seek to prepare new leaders to apply management and evidence-based decision making to improve public health and the quality of health care.
