Position Overview:

  • Execute various calculations and computations under guidance.
  • Conduct sampling and testing of materials.
  • Verify that materials comply with project specifications and are installed correctly.
  • Perform inspection duties on highway construction projects.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and prepare cost estimates.
  • Measure and calculate payment quantities.
  • Interpret construction blueprints and plans.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong mathematical skills with the ability to apply relevant formulas.
  • Familiarity with technology, including iPad, Microsoft Office, and Dropbox.
  • Excellent communication skills and capability to work independently.
  • Physical fitness to perform necessary tasks.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Valid Driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Level II: Minimum four years of relevant experience.
  • Level III: Minimum five years of relevant experience.
  • Level IV: Minimum seven years of relevant experience.

Preferred Certifications:

  • NCDOT Concrete
  • NCDOT QMS Roadway
  • NCDOT ABC Sampling
  • NCDOT Level II Erosion & Sediment Control
