Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Silicon Photonics Engineer to join our team at Apple. As a key member of our hardware engineering team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative silicon photonics solutions for our optical interconnects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high-efficiency optical I/O module architectures and assembly processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define package BOMs and establish optical coupling design and manufacturing processes
  • Develop and implement advanced packaging technologies for silicon photonics engine/chiplet packaging and co-packaging optics

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in silicon photonics or related field
  • Strong theoretical background in optics and photonics fundamentals, device/module integration

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in silicon photonics or related field
  • Hands-on experience with CMOS BEOL wafer-scale processing and flip-chip assembly
