  • Mentor and develop engineers while participating in recruitment efforts to attract top talent.
  • Effectively communicate the team's progress to leadership on a regular basis.
  • Lead complex projects and serve as the technical subject matter expert in software design, architecture, implementation, deployment, and support within a fast-paced Agile environment.

Initial Expectations for the Role:

First 30 Days:

  • Complete onboarding, acquiring the necessary resources for success.
  • Meet with your team to understand their motivations, focus areas, and immediate support needs.
  • Gain insights into how ticket marketplaces function and your contribution to enhancing customer experiences.
  • Familiarize yourself with team and company norms, business objectives, and Vivid Seats values.
  • Develop a foundational understanding of applications, technology stack, and development processes.

First 90 Days:

  • Contribute to methodologies, practices, or technologies that support overall business objectives and enhance team efficiency.
  • Adjust your communication style and management techniques to meet the unique needs of your team members.
  • Maintain and cultivate internal and external relationships to drive progress and achieve goals.
  • Participate in team planning, estimations, and design discussions.

First 180 Days:

  • Implement strategies to execute individual tasks that positively influence the team.
  • Engage in ongoing learning to advance the skills necessary for team objectives.
  • Achieve self-sufficiency in all applications utilized by the team.
  • Actively contribute to broader team and engineering group goals.
  • Help shape the team's roadmap in collaboration with leadership and the product team.

Qualifications:

  • A customer-centric mindset with over 8 years of technical experience in software engineering, preferably with modern languages and frameworks such as Spring Boot, Java, Python, JavaScript, React, or Event-Driven systems.
  • Proven experience providing technical leadership in a fast-paced Agile environment, having led high-performance teams and directed technical growth and product development.
  • Project and program management experience delivering high-quality software solutions that meet or exceed both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Expertise in all facets of software engineering with the ability to assess and implement improvements that enhance software quality.
  • A demonstrated history of delivering market-ready solutions.
  • Familiarity with application observability and cloud monitoring tools.
  • Strong experience with Java, Spring Framework, SOA, AWS, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

  • A passion for software engineering and a knack for problem-solving through code.
  • A genuine interest in technology and a strong curiosity for new tools to address real-world challenges.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • A self-starter mentality with a robust work ethic and meticulous attention to detail.
