Early Childhood Education Assistant

Position Overview:
As an Early Childhood Education Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting Lead Teachers in the design and execution of educational activities that foster the cognitive, emotional, social, and physical growth of young children in a nurturing and secure environment.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with Lead Teachers to develop and implement engaging learning experiences.
2. Promote family engagement and strengthen the connections between children and their families.
3. Utilize positive communication techniques and appropriate disciplinary methods.
4. Assist in guiding and supervising children during various classroom activities.
5. Help implement age-appropriate activities that align with educational standards and creative curricula.
6. Model family-style dining practices during meal times.
7. Monitor children's safety continuously and report any concerns regarding child welfare.
8. Aid in conducting developmental screenings and assessments as required.

Communication and Documentation:
1. Facilitate open communication with parents through scheduled conferences and home visits.
2. Act as an advocate for parents, addressing any issues or concerns that arise.
3. Inform parents about daily classroom routines, expectations, and opportunities for involvement.
4. Maintain accurate records of classroom activities, including attendance and screening results.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential for ages 3-5.
- Minimum of one year of experience working with preschool-aged children.
- Basic computer skills.
- A passion for teaching and the ability to build trusting relationships with students, educators, and families.
- Capability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds for classroom and event needs.
Preferred:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field with at least 9 credit hours in ECE.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
