Position Overview:The Patient Care Transport Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of patients throughout the facility.
Key Qualifications:- EDUCATION: A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Must possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, or be willing to obtain it shortly after employment begins.
- SKILLS:
- Ability to proficiently operate medical transport equipment, including wheelchairs, gurneys, and electric beds.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and staff.
- Capacity to maintain composure in high-pressure situations and respond promptly to patient needs.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- EXPERIENCE: Prior experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous.
- SUPERVISION: This position reports directly to the Radiology Manager.
- WORK ENVIRONMENT: The role involves exposure to bloodborne pathogens and various bodily fluids, necessitating adherence to universal safety precautions.
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The position requires frequent interaction with patients in stressful situations. Flexibility in working hours is essential to accommodate sudden changes and emergencies. Physical capabilities include frequent bending, occasional squatting, continuous manual dexterity, and the ability to lift or move up to 100 lbs.
