Transformative Credit Risk Leadership

BECU, the nation's largest community credit union, seeks a visionary Director Credit Risk Officer to lead transformative initiatives within our Credit Risk Management division. As a key member of our leadership team, you will shape credit risk strategies, enhance governance standards, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements across Mortgage and Home Equity portfolios.

Salary Range: The estimated salary range for this position is $188,700 - $230,800 annually, with potential for performance-based incentives and bonuses. In addition to your salary, you will have access to a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage, health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, and employer-funded retirement plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shape Credit Strategies: Collaborate with the Chief Credit Officer (CCO) and business leaders to develop and execute credit strategies aligned with BECU's risk appetite and loan portfolio objectives.
  • Monitor Portfolio Performance: Conduct regular analysis of portfolio performance, identifying and addressing risk opportunities and threats. Present insights to the Credit Risk Committee (CRC) and Executive Management.
  • Lead Risk Initiatives: Drive initiatives to adjust and enhance risk appetite through the development and support of credit risk initiatives, including portfolio origination, account management, collections, and loss mitigation strategies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, mathematics, or economics, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant credit risk management experience.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in financial industries, focusing on Mortgage and Home Equity.
  • Minimum 5 years of people management experience.
