Senior Transportation Planner

Loudoun County Government is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Transportation Planner to join our team in the Transportation Planning Division of the Department of Transportation and Capital Infrastructure (DTCI).
This is a key role that will involve performing a broad spectrum of tasks associated with land use and development projects, working closely with other departments in the County.
Key Responsibilities- Engage in short-term and long-range transportation planning efforts, including reviewing land development applications and performing complex transportation analyses, evaluations, and studies.
- Provide mapping data and information in an engaging and user-friendly manner, participating in community engagement and outreach activities.
- Manage special transportation projects, communicating and interacting with elected officials, advisory boards, administrators of public agencies/departments, private sector businesses, and members of the public.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, customers, and supervisors to promptly and effectively respond to public inquiries.
- Bachelor's degree in Planning, Public Administration, Public Policy, Business Administration, or a related field, with five years of related work experience, or Master's degree in a related field with three years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions, exercise good judgment, work independently, take initiative, and exhibit professionalism.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to plan, organize, and carry out complex projects effectively and simultaneously.
- Experience in public involvement and presentation of information to public bodies, with concise and professional writing skills, strong verbal communication and presentation skills, and the capability to prepare or direct the preparation of graphic information in a variety of media and formats.
- Familiarity with ArcView, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to attend night meetings to present information to the Board of Supervisors, Planning Commission, and/or other stakeholder groups.
