Key Responsibilities- Design and execute engineering development efforts, including planning, execution, and tracking/reporting of technical aspects.
- Lead cross-functional engineering teams, including engineers, technicians, and other stakeholders, to achieve project goals and objectives.
- Ensure technical resource needs are met, including staffing, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Develop and implement engineering processes, including design, development, integration, test, and performance verification.
- Manage and coordinate engineering tasks and actions to closure in a timely fashion.
- Evaluate the integration of engineering solutions within the overall engineering environment, ensuring compliance with Systems Engineering best practices.
- Develop and execute test plans, guide the integration, verification, validation, and documentation of requirements, and support the development of interface control documents, software requirement specifications, and performance specifications.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to less experienced professionals, and represent the organization as a prime technical contact.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience.
- Progressive engineering experience, typically 12+ years with a bachelor's degree, 10+ years with a master's degree, or 7+ years with a PhD.
- Strong skills in management, project management, leadership, communication, systems engineering, and engineering technical disciplines.
- Expertise or significant experience in at least one engineering technical discipline or domain, such as power electronics, vehicles drive train, energy storage, optical or high power laser systems, mechanisms and structures, etc.
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of systems engineering processes, flow down of system requirements, system architecture, and the interaction of system and subsystem requirements.
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of system verification and validation to ensure the final products conform to the stated requirements.
- Experience with contractual documents, including understanding and applying statement of work requirements, and familiarizing stakeholders with contract and organization requirements.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project, as well as strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- DOD experience.
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced testing environment.
- Knowledge/experience with Requirements Management Systems, support requirements, lifecycle planning, and integration for DOD systems.
- Detailed working knowledge of PLM/Windchill.
General Atomics offers a competitive salary range of $116,480 - $208,505, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development in a dynamic and innovative environment.
