Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Operations Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our industrial facilities in East Central Iowa.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in grain and fertilizer industries, with at least 10 years of experience as a Millwright and 3 years of experience as a Millwright Foreman.

This is a supervisory role that requires excellent leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a crew of tradespeople to ensure efficient and safe completion of tasks.
  • Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Train and develop team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Inspect work quality and identify areas for improvement.
  • Operate construction equipment such as forklifts, man lifts, hoisting equipment, excavating equipment, etc.
  • Receive, unload, stage, organize, and inventory project materials, machinery, and equipment.
  • Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Fabricate, assemble, erect, and install structural systems to support and/or access equipment, machinery, and other structures.
  • Dismantle machinery or equipment using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools.
  • Moves machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
  • Assemble and install equipment such as shafting, conveyors, and tram rails using hand tools and power tools.
  • Construct foundations for machines using hand tools and building materials such as wood, cement, and steel.
  • Align and position machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, lasers, and plumb bobs.
  • Test machines and equipment and make necessary adjustments.
  • Repair and lubricate machinery and equipment.
  • Select cables, ropes, chains, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves according to weight and size of load to be moved.
  • Attach loads with grappling devices such as loops, wires, ropes, and chains to crane hooks.
  • Set up, brace, and rig hoisting equipment using hand tools and power wrenches.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Ten or more years of Millwright experience is required.
  • Three or more years of Millwright Foreman experience is required.
  • Industrial machine experience such as a forklift is required.
  • NCCCO Operator Certification is preferred.
  • NCCCO Rigger Certification is preferred.
  • Current OSHA 10 or MSHA Certification is preferred.
  • TWIC card is preferred.
  • Welding certifications are preferred.

Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
