Our mission is to foster a society where these individuals are not only prevalent in higher education but also serve as role models in their communities. As an AmeriCorps partner, IYT supports over 3,500 members across various locations.
Position Overview
The Program Manager, reporting to the College Academy Program Director, plays a pivotal role in driving student success, cultivating robust school partnerships, and ensuring a meaningful experience for AmeriCorps members. This position holds accountability for achieving key organizational objectives related to academic preparedness, GPA, college eligibility, attendance, and student retention, typically overseeing two school sites.
Key Responsibilities
Student Success
- Achieving annual program targets, including GPA, college enrollment, engagement, A-G completion, and retention rates.
- Directly managing the execution of IYT's core services.
- Overseeing program data management through Salesforce.
- Handling financial operations at the site, including expense tracking and management.
- Supporting fundraising initiatives to foster a philanthropic culture within IYT.
- Developing and maintaining the program calendar.
- Completing additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.
School Collaboration
- Regularly engaging with key stakeholders at school sites.
- Administering and supervising student and parent site councils.
- Participating in school meetings and events.
AmeriCorps Member Development
- Providing coaching and support to AmeriCorps members.
- Engaging in professional development opportunities.
- Assisting in fulfilling grant obligations and reporting requirements.
Qualifications
- Alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Improve Your Tomorrow, Inc.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of two years of experience working directly with young men of color.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal abilities.
- Management experience is preferred.
Education
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent professional experience.
Schedule
This role typically follows a Monday to Friday schedule, from 8:30 AM to 5 PM, with occasional weekends, evenings, and organization-wide events required.
Compensation
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with an hourly wage ranging from $19.50 to $28.00. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, an employee assistance program, and a 403(b) retirement plan with employer matching after one year of service. Paid vacation and time off are also provided.
