Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to join our team at Albireo Energy.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced engineer to take on a challenging role in ensuring the optimal performance of complex systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting preventive maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning, and general servicing of systems.
  • Performing point-to-point checkouts to verify control systems have been installed properly.
  • Completing assigned system commissioning and performing device verification.
Duties:
  • Performing start up, checking, testing, system diagnostics, and commissioning from system-level controllers to end devices for small to medium-sized new or retrofit projects.
  • Performing preventative and predictive maintenance service activities to ensure optimal performance of systems.
  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing or replacing control components and control systems.
  • Troubleshooting mechanical, HVAC, and electrical issues related to BAS control system operation.
  • Understanding complex control systems, including diagnosing and troubleshooting networking and integration.
  • Writing, creating, loading, testing, and commissioning programming software and graphics using various programming languages and software.
  • Performing assigned work efficiently and professionally.
  • Communicating with customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
  • Meeting regularly with customers to become familiar with operating problems.
  • Keeping customers informed on the nature of service provided, outstanding issues, and recommending system enhancements, upgrades, and replacements.
  • Promoting the sale of add-on work.
  • Training customers in control systems operations, including obtaining customer training forms and providing training certificates.
  • Completing, compiling, and submitting job documentation, such as commissioning documentation, punch lists, etc.
  • Marking up controls submittals to capture field changes and discrepancies for engineering to create As-Builts.
  • Interfacing with service managers, service project managers, or subcontractors on projects to coordinate activities in an ethical and professional manner.
  • Reporting problems or changes to management immediately.
  • Assisting sales by providing technical recommendations for sales leads and proposals for retrofits, upgrades, and enhancements to existing equipment.
  • May assist with job layout.
  • Conducting extensive self-study to improve and maintain technical proficiency in company product lines.
  • Completing certifications as required by the company.
  • Loading and updating software on network controllers, field controllers, computers, and servers.
  • Completing and submitting timely electronic documentation, including but not limited to, time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
Requirements:
  • Requires extensive knowledge of various electronic or digital controls systems.
  • Vocational school four-year program graduate or an Associate's degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning, or a similar field.
  • Two years of experience in servicing electronic and or mechanical systems may offset a degree.
  • Five to seven years of increasingly responsible experience in servicing electronic controls and HVAC equipment.
  • Ability to coordinate the work of others on multiple job sites.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to represent the company to customers and other outside contacts in a professional manner.
Compensation:

The estimated annual salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
