This position entails utilizing advanced analytical and strategic insights to pinpoint trends and geographic regions that may require enhanced public safety measures.
Key responsibilities include leveraging technical expertise with GIS mapping and database tools to extract crime statistics, criminal investigation documents, and geospatial information to analyze data, compile findings, and provide insightful assessments to the Police Department for guiding strategic initiatives.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Extracting and analyzing crime data from the Law Enforcement Records Management System (LERMS);

7. Compiling and presenting reports to Departmental and County leadership to update on trends or emerging challenges;
Staying informed about best practices and emerging trends to propose system or procedural enhancements to the Crime Analysis Unit.
The ideal candidate will possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities with minimal oversight, experience in engaging with senior personnel, citizens, and public officials, and the capacity to maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Computer Science, Statistics, Research Analysis, or a related discipline with coursework in statistical analysis;

Experience within a criminal justice or law enforcement context.
A thorough background check will be conducted on all finalists for the position, which may include checks of criminal records, driving records, education, professional licenses, and credit history, and may require signing a release for the County to obtain this information.
