Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Duke University Hospital. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures, providing exceptional patient care, and contributing to a safe and efficient healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons and other medical professionals during surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring the proper handling of instruments and equipment.
  • Prepare patients for surgery, including administering medications and conducting pre-operative assessments.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to any changes or complications during surgery.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless communication and coordination during procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest surgical techniques and technologies.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or maintains an accredited Surgical Technologist certification (NCCT or NBSTSA).
  • 0-18 months of full-time equivalent Surgical Technology experience.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and responding to emergencies as needed.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care and contributing to a positive work environment.
