As a Medical Laboratory Technician/Medical Technologist with Memorial Hermann Health System, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care by performing and overseeing various laboratory tests and procedures. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring accurate and timely results, which will inform healthcare decisions and drive patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Perform and document test results, quality control, maintenance procedures, and associated corrective actions according to policy and procedure.
- Manage and perform daily lab operations, including collections, sample processing, result reporting and distribution, personnel direction, and clerical duties as required to maintain efficient workflow.
- Interact with hospital personnel, volunteers, physicians, and patients to ensure seamless specimen and order management, and to communicate results effectively.
- Comply with policies, procedures, and initiatives of laboratory services, the hospital, and system, and understand and communicate standards and conditions set forth by various governmental and accrediting agencies.
- Ensure safe care to patients, staff, and visitors, and adhere to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications.
- Associate's degree in Medical Technology or Laboratory Science, or equivalent experience in high-complexity testing.
- Medical Lab Technician certification (ASCP or ASCP-International) or Medical Lab Technician certification (AMT), or eligibility for certification and pass within one year of employment.
