Key Responsibilities:
  • Detect and Apprehend Shoplifters: Utilize your excellent judgment and professionalism to detect and apprehend shoplifters in accordance with company policies and local laws/regulations.
  • Contribute to Safe Resolution of Concerning Situations: De-escalate situations using verbal techniques and professional presence to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Investigate and Report Incidents: Prepare and submit reports involving investigations and Loss Prevention matters, including researching and archiving general liability incidents via CCTV.
  • Participate in Internal Investigations: Collaborate with internal Loss Prevention staff to conduct investigations and provide testimony at legal and court proceedings on behalf of the company.
  • Work with Local Agencies: Liaise with local, state, and government agencies regarding company matters.
  • Maintain Loss Prevention Programs: Participate in the maintenance of loss prevention and safety programs, including conducting loss prevention audits and detecting hazardous workplace incidents and issues.
  • Provide LP Training: Train store staff on loss prevention and safety awareness.
  • Identify and Troubleshoot Issues: Identify and troubleshoot issues with CCTV equipment and maintain loss prevention office and equipment to established standards.
Requirements:
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Recognizing the required criteria to determine what constitutes shoplifting, demonstrating good judgment when responding to difficult situations or individuals, and providing excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills in a work setting.
  • Skills: Documenting work and customer service activities, applying strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, prioritizing and executing tasks in a high-pressure environment, demonstrating initiative and self-direction, and working effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Additional Requirements:
  • Age: Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Equipment: Office machines, CCTV, DVR, and digital camera equipment.
