Job Title: Mid-Level Structural Designer

We are seeking an experienced Structural Designer to join our team at Kiewit Power Engineering. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating and developing building information models (BIM) for foundations and steel structures.

About the Role:
  • Coordinate with design team members to review and exchange project information.
  • Check design consistency, safety, operability, and maintenance requirements.
  • Report task progress to Lead Designer.
  • Gather required information and collaborate with engineers and multiple disciplines to develop BIM models.
  • Leverage BIM to create plans, drawings, and details.
  • Assist in developing department standards and tools.
  • Mentor team members in design and modeling techniques.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a vocational training program in Computer Aided Design and 5+ years of structural design experience using Tekla.
  • Ability to interpret multi-discipline engineering and vendor documents.
  • Leadership and confidence to monitor peers.
  • Basic knowledge of computer operating systems.
  • Effective communication and constructive interaction with team members and disciplines.
  • Knowledge of basic spreadsheet, database, and word processing programs.
