Job Title: Senior RF Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior RF Design Engineer to join our team at Hubbell Power Systems. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for the development and design of advanced Radio Frequency (RF) products for the AMI / Smart Grid industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and design RF systems and components that meet or exceed industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure RF design inputs are synthesized and implemented effectively.
  • Lead the development of RF/EMC technical solutions and ensure EMC is addressed throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Participate in the review of requirements, design, test plans, procedures, and reports related to EMC.
  • Work with Systems Engineering and Product Management to define overall system design and performance targets.
  • Generate and own documentation detailing RF HW specifications and requirements.
  • Be responsible for antenna and other RF chain components that create optimal RF performance across the full system.
  • Develop and implement strategies and procedures to validate RF system performance against requirements.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and incorporate new concepts, discoveries, and industry advances into products.
  • Ensure that all designs meet the requirements of governing agencies such as the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Industry Canada (IC).
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
  • At least 10 years' experience in high volume electronic products industry.
  • Strong knowledge of RF design principles, including software defined radio design, low power RF circuit design, PLL circuit design, VCO design, RF amplifier design, RF filter and matching design, modulation and demodulation design, and receiver design using LNA-down converters.
