The Family Care Certifier & Trainer is responsible for the initial certification, ongoing certification maintenance, support, training, coaching, and retention of Family Care Providers (FCPs) on their identified caseload. This role requires strong clinical skills to assess prospective foster families for certification, as well as the ability to provide ongoing support and guidance to certified families.
Key Responsibilities- Assess prospective and online families for caregiving capacity through sustainable boundaries, physical wellness, compliance with certification standards, and ability to provide a stable, safe, and nurturing home.
- Write initial home study evaluations and annual home study amendments for Family Care Providers reflecting assessment and appropriateness for caregiving as a Family Care Provider.
- Maintain Family Care Provider files, ensuring all documentation is up to date.
- Coordinate completion of initial and annual training for Family Care Providers.
- Prepare Family Care Providers for caregiving through formal and informal trainings during the certification process and continuously post-certification through trainings.
- Provide ongoing relational and caregiving support, appreciation, building on Family Care Provider expertise as well as support through life and family challenges or transitions.
- Address Family Care Provider performance issues and incidents jeopardizing certification status.
- Provide face-to-face support to Family Care Providers at least once per month.
- A Bachelor's degree with major study in social work, psychology, sociology, or a closely allied field and have 2 years of relevant experience.
- OR A Master's Degree with major study in social work, psychology, sociology, or a closely allied field and have 1 year of relevant experience.
