JOB SUMMARY:
The role encompasses all facets of technical setup, transitions, minor process modifications, troubleshooting, and compliance with established protocols. A primary responsibility is to ensure the production lines operate efficiently while adhering to Safety, Production, and Quality objectives.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accountable for all setups and ensuring adherence to specifications during startup and product transitions.
Engage in daily pre-shift ergonomic exercises and kickoff meetings.
Ensure timely 'repair hand-offs' with maintenance personnel.
Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and functionality of all tooling, including mold wheels, and ensuring proper storage of tools.
Make minor adjustments to processes and communicate changes to the shift lead or process specialist.
Conduct line audits to verify optimal performance of production lines.
Responsible for accurate completion of Production Reports and Quality Documentation.
Monitor equipment performance and take necessary actions when issues arise.
Report equipment malfunctions to the lead.
Adhere to Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) schedules to guarantee reliable equipment performance.
Work towards achieving all Safety, Quality, Production, and Scrap targets.
Perform product inspections to uphold established Quality standards.
Maintain 5S standards in the assigned area according to site requirements (ensuring tools are in designated places, trash is disposed of, and work areas are kept clean and organized).
Collaborate with team members, including Team Leads, Machine Operators, Maintenance Technicians, and Process Engineers.
Foster continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline operations and minimize waste, including work instructions and training.
Adhere to all Health and Safety procedures, policies, and practices.
Additional duties may be assigned, and not all tasks listed may be assigned.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED is required.
Technical Vocational School is preferred.
Proficiency in the English language is desired.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience in the extrusion or plastics processing industry is preferred.
SKILLS:
Effective communication skills with team leads and supervisors in a production environment.
Familiarity with basic PC functions, including Microsoft Office and Windows.
Strong organizational skills; logs, checklists, and inspection records must be maintained in an orderly and legible manner.
A high sense of urgency; escalate potential Safety, Process, and/or Quality concerns.
Promote a positive attitude towards Safety.
Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand for up to 12 hours a day, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, pull, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee may occasionally need to meet specific vision requirements, including close and distance vision.Use of hands to extend arms in any direction and exert force to draw, drag, or tug hoses, along with repetitive motions of the body.
