Responsibilities

Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Two pathways offered: current CNAs or non-certified applicants.
What We Offer
  • All tuition and fees paid for the 12-month LPN program at South College.
  • Student pays for books and supplies.
  • Opportunity to work as a nurse for 18 months upon graduation.
  • Non-certified applicants must attend a paid CNA training and work as a CNA at a Hillcrest facility in good standing for 3 months upon completing the certification process.
What to Expect

If you are a current CNA, you will work 6 months and remain in good standing at a Hillcrest facility. If you are a non-certified applicant, you will attend a paid CNA training and work as a CNA at a Hillcrest facility in good standing for 3 months upon completing the certification process. After this period, you will be eligible to apply and attend the 12-month LPN program at South College.

If you fail to complete the course, you will continue in a work agreement as a CNA for 18 months. Non-certified applicants who fail to obtain certification will work in a non-certified role (dietary, housekeeping, laundry, etc.) for 12 months.
