Upholstery and Trim Craftsman
Pilatus Aircraft Ltd is seeking a skilled Upholstery and Trim Craftsman to join our aircraft completions team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and sewing high-quality materials and soft-goods to construct customized interior furnishings for our business aircraft.
Key Responsibilities- Perform incoming inspections of materials, including fabric, foam, leather, ultra-leather, and vinyl, to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Measure, mark, and cut materials to drawings and work instructions, demonstrating attention to detail and precision.
- Bond materials using various processes and adhesives, adhering to industry standards and company protocols.
- Apply and finish wraps materials to composite and kydex interior panels, showcasing expertise in upholstery and trim techniques.
- Sew leather and other finish materials prior to application, utilizing industrial sewing machines and equipment.
- Maintain labor tracking and job card/task sign-offs within our ERP/MRP system, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
- Follow safety policies and use required personal protective equipment in accordance with company and government regulations and guidelines.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; two (2) years related trade school or vocational degree preferred.
- Demonstrated craftsman-level abilities and quality, with a minimum of two (2) years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to use hand tools, adhesive spray gun, industrial sewing machine, and/or other specialized equipment.
- Ability to use measuring tools and perform basic math computations, ensuring accuracy and precision.
- Ability to read, understand, and adhere to engineering drawings, tech specs, and other relevant documents.
- Eye for precision and attention to details, with a focus on quality and craftsmanship.
- Able to work in restricted spaces and lift up to 40 pounds, with regular, reliable attendance required.
- Proficiency in general computer use and MS Office software, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and management.
- Must qualify as a U.S. person in compliance with ITAR 22 CFR 120.15.
- 11 paid holidays a year, plus 15 days of paid vacation time, and 6 days of paid sick/personal time to start, with an increase to 20 days of paid vacation time after 5 years with Pilatus.
- 90% of medical, dental, and vision premiums paid for single coverage and 80% for family coverage, averaging $9,600 annually.
