Overview:

The Nurse Practitioner plays a crucial role in delivering medical and surgical care to patients. This includes gathering and documenting patient information, performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and coordinating necessary tests and consultations. The Nurse Practitioner is also responsible for providing direct patient care, which encompasses prescribing medications and other necessary therapies.

Key Responsibilities:


• Collaborate with healthcare professionals while ensuring compliance with the relevant statutes and regulations governing advanced practice nursing.

• Deliver care within the specialized area aligned with advanced educational qualifications.

• Function independently or in collaboration with the healthcare team to observe, assess, diagnose, intervene, evaluate, rehabilitate, counsel, and educate patients experiencing health changes, as well as promote health and prevent illness.

• Utilize established protocols and written authorizations to provide medical care.

• Assess and manage patient health issues in various settings, including hospitals, clinics, and outpatient facilities.

• Identify and address health promotion and disease prevention needs within the patient population while ensuring high-quality care.

• Responsible for diagnosing and treating acute, chronic, and long-term health conditions.

• Develop, implement, and evaluate treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.

• Conduct comprehensive history and physical examinations across all age groups as per scope of practice.

• Analyze laboratory and radiological results to inform patient care.

• Employ critical thinking to customize patient care, manage illnesses, and encourage healthy lifestyle choices.

• Prescribe medications and supportive therapies to enhance patient health.

• Execute advanced procedures as validated by the credentialing committee.

• Educate patients and their families about preventive measures, medical conditions, and the use of prescribed treatments and medications.

• Collaborate effectively with medical staff to facilitate consultation, cooperation, and referrals.

• Stay updated with new knowledge from professional development opportunities and literature.

• Provide training to other healthcare professionals regarding specific practices and techniques relevant to the clinical environment.

• Engage in basic science and clinical research initiatives.

• Prepare analytical reports to document progress and identify trends with appropriate recommendations.

• Maintain accurate, legible, and confidential medical records, ensuring compliance with quality assurance standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Nursing
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Active APRN License in the state of employment
  • Current RN License in the state of employment or compact
  • BLS Certification
