Your Role and Responsibilities
The position operates on a Hybrid work model, primarily based in either Houston, TX or Cleveland, OH. The role is integral to the Process Automation Energy Industries sector. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating closely with clients to develop and implement solutions, utilizing their feedback to enhance project delivery for medium to large-scale initiatives.
- Executing Safety Instrumented System project deliverables efficiently, ensuring adherence to specifications, standards, and safety protocols.
- Providing expert consultancy on Functional Safety requirements and design methodologies.
- Designing Safety Instrumented Functions (SIFs) while ensuring compliance with IEC61511/IEC61508/ISA84 standards.
- Consulting on Safety Requirement Specification documentation.
- Ensuring adherence to ABB's Functional Safety Management System and contributing to its enhancement for improved quality and efficiency.
- Resolving technical challenges both remotely and on-site.
- Designing, testing, and commissioning Automation Enclosures, Control Logic, and Human Machine Interfaces using ABB or third-party control systems.
- Creating and presenting work plans, budgets, and risk assessments.
- Developing management skills by mentoring entry-level engineers.
- Identifying and reporting inefficiencies while applying standard techniques and tools.
Qualifications for the Role
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in Functional Safety or Safety Instrumented Systems.
- Strong understanding of engineering techniques, processes, and tools.
- Commitment to safe work practices and adherence to workplace safety guidelines.
- High self-motivation, curiosity, and eagerness to learn about emerging technologies.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively, demonstrating strong communication and leadership skills.
