Dental Assistant Job Description

At GraceMed Health Clinic, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental team in delivering high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for treatment, access dental records, and provide necessary instruments and materials.
  • Obtain and review patient and family history in dental records.
  • Chaperone and assist dentists during exams and procedures.
  • Return or receive patient phone calls, perform triage, and coordinate care or interventions.
  • Maintain and stock exam rooms.
  • Clean and sterilize equipment and instruments.
  • Provide post-treatment and oral health care instruction as requested.
  • Take impressions for study models, crowns, bridges, dentures, and partial dentures.
  • Take digital X-rays as directed by the dentist.
  • Maintain clinical equipment and supplies.
  • Perform direct patient care within limits of training and capabilities when the dentist is unavailable.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Assist in developing and documenting protocols related to job functions.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate from an accredited Dental Assistant program preferred.
  • Previous dental office experience preferred.
  • CPR certification required within 30 days of employment.
Work Schedule and Conditions:

Schedules vary, and overtime may be required depending on patient volumes. The work environment is a dental office, and the position requires sitting or standing for long periods, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The role involves interacting with dentists, dental hygienists, patients, and other office personnel, and may involve contact with angry, upset, or ill persons. The position requires visual acuity, manual dexterity, and auditory acuity to assist with procedures, perform and interpret lab results, and interface with computer systems.
