Irrigation Systems Specialist

The primary responsibility of an Irrigation Systems Specialist is to oversee the maintenance and functionality of irrigation systems within a designated region. This role involves working with various components such as sprinklers, water lines, pumps, valves, and other plumbing apparatus. Given that some of this equipment may be located underground, the specialist should be adept at using excavation tools like backhoes, shovels, and augers. The position reports directly to the Irrigation Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducts monitoring and testing of irrigation systems across the central Florida region.
- Diagnoses and resolves issues, identifies pipe locations, and assesses valve functionality.
- Installs irrigation timers and associated components.
- Sets up irrigation piping and valves as required.
- Locates, excavates, and repairs or replaces any damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
- Performs repairs and replacements on irrigation pumps.
- Ensures the service vehicle is stocked with necessary parts and tools.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with commercial irrigation systems and repair techniques.
- Proficient in understanding water volume/flow, valves, main and lateral lines, and operating controllers.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving history is mandatory.
