The Learning Experience Designer plays a crucial role in the creation and upkeep of all educational materials related to IT and Epic applications, including the training environments. This position requires collaboration with subject matter experts to design training requirements that align with the IT and/or Epic systems, ensuring that training plans are tailored to the workflows of end users. Additionally, this role involves evaluating the effectiveness of certified trainers and end users throughout the transition phase, as well as providing training on application updates, enhancements, and procedures to relevant departmental teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitates all aspects of training strategy, including planning, design, development, and implementation for designated IT and Epic applications.
  • Develops comprehensive, workflow-oriented curricula and manages the training environment for assigned applications.
  • Participates in change control meetings and other necessary gatherings, including status updates.
  • Ensures that deliverables receive approval from the appropriate project team members and are completed in line with the training strategy.
  • Creates suitable assessment and evaluation tools for training, determining the best training modality (timing, delivery method) for each user in the designated IT and/or Epic applications.
  • Trains and supports a team of credentialed trainers in the use of IT and Epic applications.
  • Responsible for the development, maintenance, and delivery of training for superuser and end-user audiences.
  • Maintains the training curriculum and environment, providing ongoing education post-implementation.
  • Develops, supports, and maintains necessary documentation and procedures, offering training to other IT staff and end-user clients as appropriate.

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to sit for up to 7 hours per day, with a maximum of 4 hours at a time; stand for up to 7 hours per day, with a maximum of 4 hours at a time; and walk for up to 2 hours a day, with a maximum of 1 hour at a time. The role requires crouching, kneeling, and lifting objects weighing up to 60 pounds, as well as pushing objects weighing up to 80 pounds. Hand and finger dexterity is necessary for performing repairs on small equipment and utilizing computer equipment. Vision capabilities must include general, near, color, and peripheral vision, along with hearing abilities for normal and telephone conversations.

EDUCATION:

A Bachelor's degree in education, instructional design, a clinical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Epic experience and certification are mandatory or must be obtained in Epic applications.



TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of 5 years of general computer experience is required, along with a combination of the following: at least 2 years of general computer experience; 2 years of healthcare experience is preferred; and knowledge and experience with PCs and printers are preferred. Familiarity with Call Management Systems, MS Visio, and MS Project is also preferred. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite is essential, along with demonstrated experience in one or more core Epic applications. Experience with training documentation authoring and creation is highly desirable.
