We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Pharmacist to join our team at Spaulding Hospital Cape Cod (SRN and SCC). As an integral member of our patient care team, you will be responsible for the preparation and dispensation of all medication, collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other pharmacy personnel to deliver safe and optimal drug therapy and maximize positive patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Medication Management: Prepare, compound, and dispense medications to patients according to laws and regulations governing pharmacists and the practice of pharmacy.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Monitor and maintain documentation for all areas related to drug preparation and delivery, order entry, investigational medicine protocols, equipment management, adverse events, and drug inventory.
- Consultation and Collaboration: Provide consultation to the interdisciplinary team in the evaluation of current and recommended drug/treatment therapies to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Patient Care: Update and maintain patient medication profiles to contain appropriate clinical information, and provide teaching and drug-related information to caregivers to facilitate understanding and increase the likelihood of efficient care and safe outcomes.
- Leadership and Supervision: Supervise pharmacy team members to verify accuracy of work before dispensing of medications, and orient, train, and evaluate team members per department and organization guidelines.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain equipment and drug inventory management in the pharmacy and patient care areas per department standards.
- Education and Degree: Required - Current, valid license registered to practice by the Massachusetts State Board of Pharmacy.
- Experience: Required - Three to five years experience as a Level I Pharmacist, with experience in hospital pharmacy preferred.
- Skills: Required - Safely execute all job responsibilities without risking injury to self or patients, demonstrate computer proficiency, and maintain a variable work schedule to provide patient care as needed.
- Education and Degree: Preferred - Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy.
- Experience: Preferred - Experience in hospital pharmacy, with a strong background in patient care and medication management.
- Skills: Preferred - Highly developed communications and interpersonal skills, working with diverse populations, and a high level of service delivery.
