A Certified Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse plays a crucial role in providing patient care under the direction of a healthcare provider. This role requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
- Greet and prepare patients for the healthcare provider.
- Obtain and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respirations.
- Administer ordered medications and vaccines as directed.
- Perform routine tests, including EKGs, and schedule patients for diagnostic testing.
- Communicate with patients regarding test results and plan of care.
- Prepare, clean, and sterilize instruments and maintain equipment.
- Document patient plans of care, tests, and examination results.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
