Clinical Faculty for BSN Program

The Department of Nursing at Gonzaga University is actively seeking qualified adjunct clinical faculty to deliver clinical instruction and oversight to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. This role also involves mentoring clinical staff within the Designated Education Units (DEUs) of our community partner facilities, who are directly involved with BSN students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate medical-surgical clinical practicum experiences for BSN students.
- Collaborate with the Lead Faculty and Nurse Manager to ensure a high-quality clinical practicum experience.
- Conduct up to 16 hours per week of medical-surgical clinical practicum, with availability required from Wednesday to Friday and occasional Saturdays.
- Engage in a weekly 2-hour clinical conference with other course faculty.
- Assess and grade required coursework.
- Complete final clinical evaluations for students.
- Maintain communication with the Lead Faculty regarding any concerns about student progress or clinical performance.
- Provide mentorship to clinical staff in the DEU who are working with BSN students.
- Act as an ambassador for the Gonzaga University School of Nursing and Human Physiology.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.
- A minimum of three years of current experience in medical-surgical and/or oncology nursing.
- Unencumbered Washington state RN license.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master of Science degree in Nursing.
- Prior experience in clinical teaching.
