Position Overview:

The Offset Second Press Operator plays a crucial role in assisting the First Press Operator with the setup and operation of printing machinery according to client specifications. This position is vital for maintaining production efficiency by effectively planning and organizing tasks while ensuring consistent quality through diligent monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees print quality by aiding in the adjustment and monitoring of color in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Supports the maintenance of registration, folding, and compensation processes, promptly identifying and rectifying any discrepancies.
  • Assists in the setup and operation of machinery, including configuring press computers, units, folders, and auxiliary equipment, while also performing routine preventative maintenance.
  • Participates in the webbing process of the press.
  • Ensures cleanliness and assists in the mechanical upkeep of the press.
  • Engages in additional tasks related to safety, quality assurance, and production efficiency.
  • Provides training to fellow employees as necessary.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Ability to accurately read and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and job specifications.
  • Capable of identifying color and press defects in products.
  • Skilled in matching products to customer samples.
  • Proficient in utilizing computer systems to ensure product quality.
  • Strong troubleshooting, interpersonal, and communication abilities.

Preferred Skills and Competencies:

  • Previous experience as a Press Assistant I or II.
  • Mechanical and computer proficiency.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds regularly.
  • Willingness to stand and work for 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule, including overtime as required.
