Job Description

Empire Electronics, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Program Manager to lead our customer support team and drive growth in the automotive industry. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of assigned customers, including team leadership, resource allocation, and ensuring timely and budget-friendly job launches.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Customer Support team to ensure seamless communication and collaboration with customers.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Manage resources to ensure on-time and on-budget job launches, meeting customer expectations.
  • Assign resources to meet customer requests and follow up with the Customer Support team to ensure completion.
  • Provide regular reports to upper management, utilizing effective communication techniques.
  • Prepare and present weekly program management reports to the President and high-level managers.
  • Coordinate with the Production Scheduling team to ensure timely and efficient production planning.
  • Monitor the Customer Support team for continuous improvement and implement changes as needed.
  • Primary customer contact for commercial and engineering issues.
  • Support sales efforts and make sales calls with salesmen when necessary.
  • Liaise between the plant and the customer, supporting plant objectives and customer expectations.

Engineering Responsibilities:

  • Enter new job work orders into the system as received from customers.
  • Meet with customers for design reviews and establish priorities on customer requests.
  • Support customers on product launches and engineering changes.
  • Provide customer engineering support, including design recommendations.
  • Support customers on-site for product launches and engineering changes.
  • Manage a team of engineers at Empire Electronics Honduras to ensure customer requirements are met.

Production Scheduling Responsibilities:

  • Assist with master production scheduling and raw material authorization letters.
  • Review problems to deliver parts to customers on time.
  • Plan for start of production (SOP) and provide financial analysis to launch within budget.
  • Provide program launch readiness reports.
  • Manage the team to plan for end of production and start of service part production.
  • Evaluate program length and sales forecast.
  • Review new sales reports with the Production Scheduling team.
  • Coordinate engineering change launches and review raw material inventory and obsolete analysis.
  • Plan for end of production and start of service parts shipments.
  • Coordinate scheduled product sorts and shipments of certified material to customers when quality concerns arise.

Quality Responsibilities:

  • Periodically visit customer assembly lines and coordinate potential improvements before launch.
  • Coordinate sorting or rework activity at customers.
  • Coordinate in-house sorts and reworks with the sorting team.
  • Coordinate the return of defective parts to Honduras for root cause analysis and follow-up on tracking.
  • Establish priorities on material certification to meet delivery dates.
  • Manage to have all parts with quality concerns on hold.
  • Manage customer scorecards and evaluate delivery performance, quality conformance, and cost reduction projects (VAVE).
  • Manage customer service engineers at Empire Electronics Honduras for prompt 8D response to customers and customer expectations.
  • Follow up on the delivery of root cause analysis to customers on time.

Quoting Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate quote transfer meetings to review material and labor involved in new products.
  • Make changes to quotes based on customer requirements and specification compliance.
  • Work on requotes when customers make engineering changes to products.
  • Provide VAVE suggestions on material to reduce costs on products.
  • Work on cost breakdowns per customer's requirements.
  • Review prices of components and vendors selected during the quoting process.
  • Review processes that the part will go through during the manufacturing process to calculate labor.

Tooling Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate work on the design of VI components for new products.
  • Coordinate work on engineering changes per customer requirements and design improvements requested by the molding department.
  • Coordinate to evaluate tool design and cost.
  • Evaluate and review capital equipment investment.
  • Coordinate to do a design review and ensure compliance with customer and USCAR requirements.
  • Coordinate requests for all laboratory tests and develop DVP&R to send to customers.
  • Coordinate review of all VI engineering changes.
