About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Director of Operations to join our team at the University of California - San Francisco Campus and Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing fiscal oversight and management, reporting and analysis, policy interpretation and guidance to department leadership, managers, financial units, faculty and other staff.

This is a key role in ensuring that our financial activities adhere to University of California and external regulatory policies and guidelines. The incumbent will hold fiduciary responsibility to ensure cost accounting principles and standards are met and establishes and maintains internal controls and streamlined business processes.

The Finance Director of Operations will work closely with the Senior Director of Finance on planning and execution of departmental short- and long-term strategic plans as they relate to finance and/or operations. This position will also be responsible for supervising the day-to-day activities for two (2) Financial Services Analysts who provide direct service to the department finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide fiscal oversight and management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with University of California and external regulatory requirements
  • Manage and supervise a team of Financial Services Analysts
  • Collaborate with department leadership and managers to develop and implement strategic plans
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related area such as accounting, business administration, finance or closely related field and/or equivalent experience / training
  • 5+ years Finance and/or Accounting experience
  • Advanced proficiency in business applications, such as Microsoft Office
  • 3+ years Prior supervisory, managerial or lead experience especially in overseeing teams of two or more team members
  • Extensive knowledge of finance policies, practices and systems, budgeting and reporting techniques, accounting and bookkeeping
  • Solid understanding of financial and resource planning concepts as well as how to control organizational budgeting
  • Ability to prepare and present materials to internal and external constituents

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is between $94,400 - $201,800, depending on qualifications and experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
