Overview

TEKsystems is partnering with a local healthcare insurance company in Hawaii to fill a remote position for a Technical Writer Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will create, maintain, and update various documents supporting our healthcare insurance operations.

About the Position

As a Technical Writer Specialist, you will develop, write, and maintain comprehensive documentation such as SOPs, communication guidelines, process flows, and project plans. Your tasks will include collaborating with various departments to gather information, ensuring documentation accuracy, completeness, and up-to-dateness, documenting all aspects of the healthcare insurance operations, and ensuring all documentation meets regulatory and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities will include creating user-friendly guides and manuals for internal and external stakeholders, reviewing and editing existing documentation to improve clarity, consistency, and usability, managing document control processes to ensure proper versioning and accessibility, and assisting in the development of training materials and resources.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, write, and maintain comprehensive documentation such as SOPs, communication guidelines, process flows, and project plans.
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather information and ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and up-to-date.
  • Document all aspects of the healthcare insurance operations, including interactions with the outsourcing partner.
  • Ensure all documentation meets regulatory and compliance standards.
  • Create user-friendly guides and manuals for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Review and edit existing documentation to improve clarity, consistency, and usability.
  • Manage document control processes to ensure proper versioning and accessibility.
  • Assist in the development of training materials and resources.
  • Conduct regular audits of documentation to ensure ongoing accuracy and relevance.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Writer Specialist.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in documentation tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, content management systems).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards is a plus.

Salary and Benefits

This position offers a pay range of $25-36 per hour, depending on experience. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits, and they may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plans, or program terms.
