Job Summary

The Fullington Auto Bus Company is seeking a skilled Mechanic Helper to join our team. As a Mechanic Helper, you will be responsible for assisting our lead Mechanic with various tasks related to the maintenance and repair of school buses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the lead Mechanic with routine maintenance and repairs of school buses, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
  • Perform daily inspections of school buses to identify any potential issues or defects.
  • Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment on school buses.
  • Operate a school bus on a daily route, ensuring the safety of passengers and adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and technologies in the field of automotive repair.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; trade school or college certification in a related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a related field, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • CDL Class B with Passenger and School Bus Endorsements (or willingness to obtain, with company-provided training).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
