Job Summary:

The Audiologist functions as a key member of the Otolaryngology healthcare team, responsible for evaluating hearing and performing specialized diagnostic procedures. They coordinate and assess diagnostic data to determine the most effective medical treatment for hearing loss. Additionally, they advise on the selection, fitting, and dispensing of hearing aids, and provide counseling, guidance, and auditory training to patients. The Audiologist must adhere to the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) and American Academy of Audiology code of ethics.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct comprehensive hearing evaluations and diagnostic procedures
• Coordinate and assess diagnostic data to determine the most effective treatment for hearing loss
• Advise on the selection, fitting, and dispensing of hearing aids
• Provide counseling, guidance, and auditory training to patients
• Maintain adherence to ASHA and American Academy of Audiology code of ethics

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master of Science in Audiology degree
• CCC/A certification by the American Speech and Hearing Association
• Current Kentucky state licensure
• State license (or eligible) to dispense hearing aids
• Minimum two years of broad clinical experience

Physical Guidelines:
• Ability to move, traverse, position self, and remain in a stationary position for up to eight hours per day
• Manual dexterity
• Articulate speech
• Spatial/form perception
