Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Histology Technician to join our team at DOCS Dermatology. As a Histology Technician, you will play a critical role in preparing patient tissue specimens for microscopic examination and analysis by our pathologists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform histological technical procedures using manual and automated techniques to achieve high-quality pathology slides.
  • Provide skilled surgical and medical support to our MOHS surgeon, ensuring patient care and safety.
  • Prepare patients' charts, forms, and instruments, as well as equipment needed for surgery.
  • Prepare histological samples, map, and flatten, frozen section samples, and staining.
  • Comply with OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Perform routine housekeeping duties, keeping the lab stocked with supplies.
  • Organize, file, and dispose of all specimens within regulation.
  • Participate in external and internal proficiency testing.
Requirements
  • Science degree
  • Prior experience in a medical office
  • Ability to learn related center tasks and be of assistance to management and physicians
  • Self-motivated to achieve the highest patient care and customer service standards
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding (preferred)
  • Familiarity with the ModMed EMA EMR (preferred)
  • Thorough understanding of HIPAA law
  • Team player
