At Memorial MRI & Diagnostic, we are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Technologist to join our team. As a Diagnostic Imaging Technologist, you will be responsible for performing routine radiographic procedures, administering ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes, and operating radiographic equipment. You will work under the direction of a radiologist and/or supervisor to ensure the highest level of patient care possible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate radiographic equipment, select and modify positioning of patients and equipment, develop images, and maintain required records.
  • Assist patients as needed throughout the clinic, display respect and concern for all patients, and follow HIPPA guidelines.
  • Verify the appropriate procedure to be performed by checking the physician's orders on the patient's chart with the requisition, and contact the physician if there are any discrepancies.
  • Follow departmental procedure manual to ensure that all standard views are taken, refer to the requisition for any special instructions from the physician or Radiologist, and ensure exams are complete in RIS and properly transferred on PACS.
  • Assist radiologists as directed to produce radiographic images for diagnosis, position patients as appropriate for various types of radiographic procedures and equipment, operate radiographic equipment as directed by radiologist according to acquired skills, and adjust equipment controls and techniques as required for radiographic images.
  • Develop or assist with development of radiographic images using appropriate CR and DR procedures, regularly check equipment, accessories, and supplies, and maintain adequate inventory of supplies for an assigned area.
  • Render first aid to radiology patients when necessary, notify appropriate personnel of emergency situations, and maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in radiological societies.
  • Follow all safety rules while on the job, report accidents promptly, and correct minor safety hazards.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent with satisfactory completion of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved educational program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Registered in Radiologic Technology by a nationally recognized certifying body (ARRT preferred) or meets the requirements for registry eligibility.
  • Certified by the Texas Department of Health as a Medical Radiologic Technologist.
