Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients with pulmonary disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with respiratory diseases and conditions.
  • Initiate and manage Life Support Systems under the direction of a physician.
  • Perform all tasks included in your license practice act within department guidelines and policies.
  • Function with limited supervision, relying on your education and the guidance of the physician and supervisory staff.
Compliance/Quality

We expect our Respiratory Therapist to:

  • Observe all departmental and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to safety, quality assurance, and infection control standards at all times.
  • Document all pertinent clinical activities for patient care correctly and accurately in a timely manner.
  • Preserve the confidentiality of PHI under HIPAA standards.
Patient Care Delivery

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Provide clinical assessments of patients in impending distress, requiring immediate therapeutic intervention.
  • Complete all clinical activities assigned and respiratory care procedures and treatments per departmental procedures.
  • Administer medications properly and document accordingly.
  • Assess blood gas samples and recommend therapeutic intervention as needed.
Collaboration/Partnerships

We value teamwork and expect our Respiratory Therapist to:

  • Participate in Quality rounds, department huddles, and meetings.
  • Mentor new team members and students.
  • Communicate patient outcomes to other healthcare team members.
  • Engage with the multi-disciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care.
Other Duties As Assigned

We may ask our Respiratory Therapist to:

  • Complete other duties as assigned.
  • Participate in departmental/organizational committees or community service projects.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Clinical experience in respiratory care.
  • An Associate's Degree or equivalent (10 years of experience as a licensed therapist substituted for an Associate's Degree).
  • Graduation from an AMA-approved program.
  • Good computer skills, interpersonal and human relations skills, and oral and written communication skills.
