About the Role

We are seeking compassionate and caring individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care and support to residents in designated residential homes
  • Enrich and support the lives of our residents while maintaining a safe and healthy environment
  • Provide companionship and personalized care with respect and dignity, while encouraging independence and self-care
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, and eating
  • Prepare meals and snacks
  • Perform light household duties
  • Assist with daily living activities
  • Provide mobility and transfer assistance, which may include using mechanical lift devices
  • Accompany residents on community activities and outings
  • Implement positive behavior supports
Requirements
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance
  • Ability to travel to three different homes within the Portland metro community
  • Previous caregiving experience
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to attend two weeks of paid in-house orientation and training
  • Ability to learn different supports from medical to behavioral
  • Person-centered, patient, and kind
  • Flexible, dependable, adaptable
  • Excellent communication, active listening, and decision-making skills
  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions
