Position Overview

The Float LPN will be responsible for delivering nursing care and supporting the planning and execution of care strategies aimed at ensuring patient comfort and well-being under the guidance of a registered nurse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducts patient assessments to identify nursing care requirements based on the analysis of relevant data.
  • Recognizes situations requiring immediate nursing intervention.

  • Contributes to the development and revision of care plans by providing pertinent data and identifying potential goals for review by the RN.

  • Maintains awareness of patient progress and goals, as evidenced by documentation in medical records.
  • Organizes and prioritizes workload to deliver quality patient care efficiently.
  • Enhances knowledge and skills to reflect current nursing practices, performing only those tasks for which they are qualified.
  • Documents assessments, procedures, and patient education timely, ensuring effective communication with the healthcare team.
  • Provides patient and family education under the direction of the registered nurse, adhering to legal and facility guidelines.
Physical Demands

This role requires physical activities such as walking, standing, lifting, and bending. Candidates must be capable of lifting up to 35 pounds when handling patients and medical supplies. Proficiency in English is essential, along with intact sensory abilities and critical thinking skills. Quick responses to changes in patient conditions are necessary.

Qualifications

Applicants must have graduated from an accredited practical nursing program and possess current LPN licensure or a temporary license. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required as per policy guidelines.
