Job Description

As the Airport Director of Landside/Terminal, you will oversee the management, operation, and strategic planning of all landside and terminal operations for the Department of Aviation. This role requires a strong leader who can allocate budgeted resources, establish processes and procedures, and ensure compliance with enterprise maintenance management systems software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement contingency plans and measurements for compliance with AFRD and TSA standards, and all federal, state, and local regulations and airport policies and requirements.
  • Develop the annual business plan, implement operations objectives that support the plan, and prepare the annual operating budget.
  • Ensure a well-trained team by developing and implementing necessary training programs, implementing plans related to crowd control, contingency planning, severe weather preparation, and execution of the annual budget.
  • Provide support to the Assistant General Manager - Regulatory Compliance, including reviewing and monitoring plans, attending construction meetings, working with Project Managers and Construction Managers, and monitoring construction to ensure safe and efficient construction activities.

  • Ability to make decisions that align with the airport's long-term goals and strategic plans, ensuring that landside operations support broader organizational objectives.
  • Ability to make effective decisions in a fast-paced work environment.
Leadership Expectations
  • Position has directional authority over a group of managers and provides high-level coaching and development for direct and high-potential employees.
  • Guidance should typically be general in nature and focus on objectives, end results, and policies.
  • Position must be skilled in effective feedback for managers and teams reporting and develop tools and metrics to hold all areas accountable.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Airport Management, Business Administration, or closely related field.
  • 5-7 years of Senior Airport/Aviation Operations Management experience or related position at a domestic/large hub airport.
