Senior Accountant Opportunity at a National Food Service Provider

This role is integral to the accounting department, directly reporting to the Assistant Controller, and is essential for the advancement of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute month-end closing activities, including accruals, review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure general ledger accounts are maintained in accordance with GAAP standards.
  • Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and supervise the work of junior accounting staff.
  • Evaluate account variances and trends, providing insightful explanations to management.
  • Assist operational staff with account analysis and inquiries.
  • Facilitate external audit requests and requirements.
  • Support various accounting functions such as revenue, Cost of Goods Sold, and fixed asset management.
  • Exhibit strong written and verbal communication capabilities.
  • Demonstrate outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Show a high level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • A minimum of 6 years of accounting experience in sectors such as retail, restaurant, or hospitality.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Sage Intacct, Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with multi-location and multi-entity accounting is advantageous.
  • A collaborative team player focused on supporting operational needs.
