We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Professional to join our team at CSL Plasma. As a Medical Professional, you will be responsible for evaluating donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures, administering and supervising approved immunizations, and providing limited emergency medical care to donors and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Donor Evaluation: Conduct confidential and effective interviews with donors to obtain necessary information regarding suitability to donate plasma.
- Immunization Administration: Administer and supervise approved immunizations, including hepatitis B and influenza immunizations.
- Emergency Medical Care: Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff, including the administration of medication or treatments in accordance with licensure or certification.
- Donor Data Management: Ensure the accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system.
- Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
- Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school, or naturopathic medical training program.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in a healthcare environment.
- Ability to make and analyze a physical assessment of heart, lung sounds, signs of drug use, etc.
- Ability to instruct donors, staff, and community regarding the benefit of plasma donation programs.
The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions, and will be frequently exposed to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and to blood-borne pathogens. The ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment while performing specific tasks or in certain areas is also required.
