Senior Technologist Opportunity

UNC Health is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technologist to join our Special Hematology Laboratory team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and resolve issues with equipment, test results, and workflow.
  • Lead and manage laboratory sections or work areas, ensuring efficient operations.
  • Participate in quality control, education, and competency programs.
  • Perform complex laboratory tests, including special chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests.
  • Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Report results to healthcare providers and consult on test results.
  • Train new employees and serve as a technical resource.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • MLS/MT (ASCP), MT (NCA), or MT (AMT) certification.
  • Two years of experience in a medical laboratory setting.
