Responsibilities:
  • Investigate problems with equipment, test results, specimens, and/or workflow.
  • Participate on teams or perform special projects/assignments.
  • Teach Clinical Laboratory Science students and Pathology residents, and train new employees.
  • Perform quality control and equipment maintenance in the laboratory.
  • Conduct routine and less standardized test procedures, including special chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic laboratory tests.
  • Prepare specimens and reagents, solutions, heat, or filters as required.
  • Report results to healthcare providers and consult/confere with them regarding test results.
  • Review test results to ensure accuracy and timely correction of errors.
Other Information:

Education Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor's of Science degree. Must meet eligibility requirements upon hire to sit for MT exam within 12 months of hire.

Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Must obtain certification within one year of becoming exam eligible.

Professional Experience Requirements:
No prior experience required.
